Senior Minister (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob
said a total of 503 individuals received compounds while 11 others were
remanded for movement control order violations on Monday (May 17). Datuk Seri
Ismail Sabri Yaakob said among the violations committed were failure to provide
entry log or equipment, not wearing face masks, not observing physical
distancing, carrying passengers above the permitted limit and other
offences.
"Compliance operations task force led by the police,
comprising 15,631 personnel divided into 4,216 teams, conducted 75,057 checks
on Monday.
They checked 4,135 supermarkets, 4,924 restaurants, 2,204
factories, 3,977 banks, 927 government offices, and 2,135 hawkers.
Meanwhile, under Ops Benteng, 41 foreigners had been
arrested on Monday with two vessels seized, adding that 462 roadblocks were
also conducted nationwide.
On sanitation operations, he said 89 were conducted on
Monday involving 40 red zones, four orange zones and eight yellow zones. This
cumulatively has reached 23,804 operations already had been conducted since
March 30 involving 156 zones.
