639 individuals were arrested for violating the nationwide Movement Control Order 3.0

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said a total of 639 individuals were arrested for violating the nationwide Movement Control Order 3.0 standard operating procedures yesterday. 53 of those arrested were remanded while the remaining 586 were issued compounds for various offences. 

In a statement today, he said among the SOP offences which topped the list of offences yesterday were: 

  Failure to register personal details prior to accessing a premises (152)

  Not observing the movement control order (109)

  Not wearing facemasks (103)

  Not observing physical distancing (100)

  Entertainment outlets in operation (25)

  Gambling (12)

  Crossing district borders without police permission (11) 

  Others (127)

On the border control operation, Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said enforcement authorities arrested five illegal immigrants trying to enter the country and seized two vehicles, yesterday. He said during this MCO 481 roadblocks had been set up at hotspots by the police, armed forces, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Malaysian Border Security Agency, and other security agencies to curb unnecessary migration or movement. 

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri also stated that 43 sanitation operations across 21 red zones, two orange zones and three yellow zones were also conducted by 213 Fire and Rescue Department personnel together with the 90 others from local councils.

"Mandatory quarantine has been imposed on all 589 returnees who have come through all our international entry points," he added. 

The returnees will undergo quarantine of between 14 to 21 days, depending on the disembarkation country at the 75 hotels and nine public training centres.
