The Age Eighteen

 Written by Nanthini Suresh

The age 18 is considered milestone. The age 18 is where we begin to enter the real world. The age 18 is the start of everything. The age 18 gives and takes a lot of things from someone.

If you’re about to turn 18 soon, this is for you. 18 things you should know before you turn 18.

1.     1. When you're young, commit to making a lot of small mistakes.

Making mistakes teaches you valuable things. The greatest mistake you can make is doing nothing because you're afraid of making a mistake. So don't hesitate endlessly, and don't doubt yourself. Most of the time, all you have to do is take a chance!  No matter how everything turns out, it is always exactly as it should be. Either you succeed or you learn something from the experience.

2.       2. Find a job that you enjoy doing.

Choose the correct professional path based on one crucial factor: choose the work that you enjoy doing. Take note of this vital piece of advice: do not choose your job decisions completely on the ideas, aspirations, and recommendations of others. You can achieve success through passion and inner alignment as long as you stay loyal to yourself and follow your own interests and ideals.

3.      3. Every day, invest a little time, energy, and money in yourself.

You can never lose when you invest in yourself, and you will change the course of your life over time. You are merely a product of your knowledge. You have greater influence over your life if you invest more time, energy, and money collecting relevant knowledge and expertise.

4.      4. Experiment with fresh ideas and opportunities on a regular basis.

Fears of failure and embarrassment are common human fears that can keep you from trying new activities. But you must overcome your worries, because your life's tale is merely the sum of countless little, one-of-a-kind experiences. And the more experiences you have, the more fascinating your story will become. So seek out as many new life experiences as you can and make sure to share them with those you care about. It is not possible to live if you do not do so.

5.       5. When it comes to developing your professional skills, concentrate on fewer things.

Keep in mind that society places experts on a pedestal. Hard labor is important, but it doesn't matter if it's dispersed in a hundred different directions. So concentrate your efforts on studying fewer career-related abilities and mastering them.

6.       6. They cannot read your mind, you must express yourself.

Unless you tell them, they will never know how you feel. You must communicate with others in order to succeed in life. And you have to open your vocal cords and utter the first words quite often. If you want to get a response, you have to tell them what you're thinking.

7.      7. Make quick decisions and act quickly.

Either you act and seize fresh chances first, or someone else will. You can't alter anything or make any progress if you just sit around and think about it. Remember that knowing how to do something and really doing it are two completely different things. Without action, knowledge is practically useless.

8.       8. Change must be accepted and embraced.

It doesn't matter how good or horrible a situation is right now, it will change. That is the one thing you can be certain of. So embrace change and understand that it occurs for a cause. It will not always be easy or evident at first, but it will be worthwhile in the end.

9.       9. Don't be overly concerned with what other people think of you.

What other people think and say about you, for the most part, doesn't matter. When I was 18, I used my high school and early college peers' judgments to affect my actions. They also directed me away from ideals and ambitions in which I deeply believed. After 10 years, I see that this was a ridiculous way to live, especially considering that nearly all of the individuals whose opinions I cared about are no longer in my life. Don't let other people's opinions get in the way of your goals. It doesn't matter what others think or say about you. It's all about how you feel about yourself.

10   10.  Be truthful to yourself and others at all times.

Living an honest life brings peace of mind, which is invaluable. Period bro.

11  11.  Communicate

Talk to everyone that you think you can gain knowledge. You'll be all set if you begin creating your professional network early. Over time, you'll continue to meet new people through your current network, and the reach of your network, as well as the opportunities that come with it, will continue to grow throughout your career.

12  12.  Every day, spend ten minutes alone in quiet.

Take advantage of this time to consider, plan, reflect, and dream. Solitude and silence are conducive to creative and constructive thinking. You can hear your thoughts, delve deep inside yourself, and chart out the next logical, productive move in your life while you are calm.

13  13.  Ask as much as possible.

The ability to seek, to ask questions, is the ultimate key. In certain cases, the search is more important than the answers when conducting research. Other people, the cosmos of knowledge and history, and your intuition and profound wisdom are all sources of information. If you never ask the correct questions, these answers will never come to light.

14   14. Take advantage of the resources that you do have.

When a physically handicapped person displays intense symptoms of emotional bliss, the typical person is usually taken aback. How could someone in such a physically limited state be so content? The answer lies in how they employ the limited resources they do have.

15   15. Keep your expenses modest.

Don't live a lavish life instead live a pleasant one. Spending to impress others is not a good idea. Do not try to deceive yourself into believing that wealth is measured in material possessions. Make good financial decisions so that your money does not manage you. Always try to live within your means.

16   16. Make others feel happy by being courteous of them.

It's not so much what you say that matters in life and business as it is how you make people feel. So, treat your elders, minors, and everyone else with respect. There are no classifications or limits that identify a group of people that are worthy of respect. Treat everyone with the same regard and patience as you would your grandfather. One of life's greatest pleasures is supporting, guiding, and contributing to others. To obtain anything, you must first give something away.

17  17. Be exceptional at what you do.

It's pointless to do anything if you're not going to do it properly. Work hard at your job and play hard at your interests. Make a name for yourself as a person who consistently performs at a high level.

18  18.  Be the person you were meant to be.

You must listen to your heart and be the person you were created to be. Some of us were created to be or accomplish whatever it is that inspires you. Whatever you choose to do with your life, you must feel it in every vibe of your being. You'd better be born with the ability to accomplish it! Don't waste your life serving the goals and desires of others.

Other than this, at this age you'll begin to lose friendships. Some will betray you, while others will simply relocate to another city and for some the spark between both of you will eventually fade.

You won't be able to ask your parents for money since you'll feel humiliated. You'll start to find a part-time work to help with your own expenses.

You'll begin college, and the memories you'll make will be there for years and create a magic when you reminisce back after ages.

You begin to accept responsibility. In family matters, your parents seek your advice. You understand how much your parents have given up for you.

Your suggestions are will be taken seriously. When a younger sibling approaches you, you guide and protect them.

You're going to be smitten. It could or could not work out. Regardless, love.

I'm not trying to scare you, you see. Life will change after you reach the age of eighteen.
